Meet representatives from Chicago-area historical research centers, manuscript repositories, and archives and learn more about their collections.
Tour the National Archives-Great Lakes Region, and discover some of their national treasures in the local setting of Chicago's Southwest Side.
Professors and teachers are especially encouraged to bring research seminar and Chicago Metro History Fair students as a class assignment.
Light refreshments will be served.

The Medical History Symposium, co-sponsored by the Chicago Area Medical Archivists and the National Archives, will also be held on Friday, October 6, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the National Archives-Great Lakes Region.
The National Archives is located at 7358 South Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60629, approximately 2 ½ miles southeast of Midway Airport. The entrance is located one block west on 75th Street, just north of Richard J. Daley City College, and parking is free.
By car: The National Archives-Great Lakes Region is about 5 miles south of the Pulaski Road exit on the Stevenson Expressway (I-55), 5 miles west of the 79th Street exit on the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94), and 7 miles north of the Cicero Avenue exit on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294).
By public transportation: Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus 53A (the South Pulaski Road route) stops at South Pulaski Road and West 75th Street. Passengers can transfer from it to other buses, subways, and commuter trains serving the Chicago area. CTA bus 53A connects with CTA Orange Line rapid transit trains from Chicago's Loop and Midway Airport at the Pulaski Road rapid transit station.
