Those interested in Louis Riel, the Metis and their history, and of the Rebellion might find the following article of interest. It is out on newstands now:

"The Riel Essay: what's the real story?" in SCOTT STAMP MONTHLY, Oct. 2006. v.24, #10, pp. 34-7.  It concerns an unissued stamp, called the Riel Essay, purportedly created by the 1869-70 provisional government of Manitoba which Louis Riel led.
