Hi Listers,

In 1937 my great uncle John Henry Martel Jr. was buried in Evergreen
Cemetery in Leominster, Massachusetts with a US Government Marker. There is no
death certificate in Massachusetts that I have found. He was in the Calvary and
I think stationed at Fort Riely, KS. in 1937 he would have been in the Army
about 20 years so he may have been recently discharged. His birth was in
Worcester, Ma on July 17, 1887 to John H. Martel and Mary E. McCann. It would
appear that he was estranged from his wife, Annie Rebecca Corkum. The family
story has been that he was found dead in a hotel room in Detroit. Is there
an index of deaths that would confirm he died in Michigan and when?

At times the family spelled the name Martell and at others Martel.

Thanks so much.
