  Jim, that's a staggering list that appears to be mainly secondary sources. I would recommend that the poster investigate primary sources in the Québec archives, both the Québec Bibliothèque et Archives and the Library and Archives web sites in Ottawa. Both have searchable data bases with original documents. Of course, one must be able to read French to read the original documents.
   
  I have researched quite a bit on the Chevalier family in these archives, and I know that the secondary sources I have seen mainly repeat each other, often just repeating errors.
