Mark your calendars in advance for this special event:
Saturday, September 8, 2007- French-Canadian Heritage Society Annual Pot Luck and Auction
This year we are having a very special pot luck. At 10:00 a.m., Lori Feret from the Friends of Belle Isle, will speak on Belle Isle, its history, and its French Connection. She will also be showing the Mort Crim Documentary on Belle Isle, and will be selling the book, Island in the City. In addition to the talk and pot luck, we are adding a very special auction this year. While organizing our Book collection, we have discovered an extra set of Father Christian Denissens Genealogy of the French Families of the Detroit River Region (Revised Edition © 1987). We have decided to put the set up for auction to the highest bidder who is physically present at the pot luck. The set is in good condition, and the starting bid will be $100. If no bid is given for that amount, the book will be reserved for sale via other means. Only cash or check will be accepted. We hope to see you there!
