[FCHSM] French language newspapers

I can't help commenting on what a great tragedy it is that these were not preserved.  Perhaps people in Michigan could scour church basements or little archives to see if some of those couldn't be found?
Here in Minneapolis, there was a French language newspaper that I just love to use.  It really gave so much information until the year it stopped being published.  Not only do you get wonderful obituaries, but wedding announcements with all the attendants, news of people's trips back to Quebec for funerals, or even retirements, information on businesses and on and on.  And, as all the French-Canadian colonies in Minnesota and North Dakota are connected (everybody is related to everybody), news from relatives visiting and more.
