Hello List,



Our War of 1812 Planning Committee is gathering information on the early
families that settled in

Sandwich prior to and following the War of 1812. With this information we
hope to publish a

Genealogy Book for the Bicentennial Commemoration of the War of 1812.



>From early land records we have been able to identify quite a few families
and we hope that

descendants will be able to help us identify more. These early residents
would include the first

Native inhabitants of the Huron and other Native tribes, the early French
families as well as the

United Empire Loyalists, escaped Slaves, Hessian settlers and we know there
are others.



The following is a list of the names we have identified. We hope that the
descendants will

want to take part in this so please pass this information along to any
family or friends whom

you think might be interested.



If you descend from one of the following people please feel free to contact
us for more information. If you know of more families that settled in
Sandwich please contact us.
