[FCHSM] French-Canadian music and dance in Lansing

Hi everyone,
We are pleased to announce that "Lyrical(ly) Living
History," a cultural exchange project between Quebec
and Michigan, designed to emphasize the shared
cultural roots between these two regions, will be
returning in March of 2008. Benoit Bourque and De
Temps Antan will be giving a series of workshops to
elementary and high school students in Genesee County,
after which they will head to Lansing for a seies of
events. On March 28 at 5 p.m., they will perform at a
free concert at Elderly Instruments; on March 29, they
will offer workshops in French-Canadian violin, guitar
and podorythmie, harmonica, percussion, and accordion,
also at Elderly Instruments. On March 29 at 8 p.m.,
they will be performing at a Ten Pound Fiddle dance at
the Central United Methodist Church in East Lansing.
