I sent the following message to some members of FCHSM a little earlier this morning, but it occurs to me now that I would get wider distribution by sending it to this list.Accordingly, here is a copy of the message I sent out earlier.

Hi all,

On 24 July 2008, Detroit will celebrate it's 307th birthday. The Detroit Historical Society will mark the occasion with a celebration at the Detroit Historical Museum from 1 - 4 pm On Sunday, 20 July 2008.

As we did last year, the French-Canadian Heritage Society ofMichigan has been invited to participate in the festivities by havingrepresentatives available at a table in the Museum to answer questionsabout Early French Detroit and also to promote our Society. Several ofyou participated last year and have expressed interest in doing itagain this year. This e-mail is a reminder that the event isapproaching. If you can come in costume, so much the better, but it isnot mandatory that you do so.
