Hello Folks,
Just thought I would let you all know about two French-Canadian events in
the Copper Country this summer.
First of all, I will be speaking on "French-Canadian Immigration to the
Copper Country" at the Chassell Heritage Center at 7:00pmThursday 3 July
2008. I welcome any FCHSM members in the UP who attend this meeting to
please introduce yourself to me after my talk. I would love to interact
with our FCHSM members north of the bridge.
Secondly, the Chassell Heritage Center is having a special Festival Joie de
Vivre, 28-31 August 2008. Please visit
http://www.keweenaw.info/events_1496_festivaljoiedevivre.aspx for details.
"The event will feature traditional music, song, dance, and foods of French
Canada, workshops on genealogy, music and dance, and other surprises
centered around French-Canadian cultural traditions." I really wish I could
be there for this event, it sounds like a lot of fun.
I want to thank the Chassell Heritage Center for inviting me to speak and
for helping to preserve French-Canadian culture in Michigan.
Regards,
JP
