[FCHSM] Kudos to Gail

I have been privileged to work closely with this lady for a number of years now in the humble capacity of one of her proofreaders on our society's journal, Michigan's Habitant Heritage.

In that capacity, I have had the opportunity to witness at first hand the level of professionalism, personal dedication and scholarship that she brings to each issue of our journal. It is largely through her expertise that our journal has been recognized as one of the best of its kind in North America.

And I would be remiss if I neglected to mention also how lucky our Society has been to have had the benefit of guidance from other World-Class figures in French-Canadian genealogical research, namely John DuLong, Sharon Kelley and Suzanne Sommerville.

We are multiply blessed, indeed.

She has been invited to speak at the prestigiousXXVIIIth International Congress of Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences on 27June 2008 in Québec. This isquite a feather in her cap and I am envious. It is an honor to speak atthis international meeting. Congratulations Gail.

Maybe in a fewmonths after the meeting Gail will consider repeating her speech for the FCHSMunable to visit Québec for the international meeting. I wish I could goto the international meeting, but this summer I will be vacationing in theCopper Country.
